Gilda was the tallest giraffe on the savanna. Her neck was so long it could reach the clouds! (Well, almost.)

But Gilda felt left out. When her friends played hide-and-seek, her head always poked out above the bushes. "Found you, Gilda!" they giggled.

When they played in the mud, she couldn't fit under the low branches. "I wish I were small like everyone else," Gilda sighed.

One afternoon, little Milo Monkey came running. "Help! My baby sister climbed up the tall tree, and now she's stuck!"

All the animals rushed over. The elephant stretched his trunk — too short! The monkeys tried to climb — the branches were too thin!

Everyone looked at Gilda.

Gilda stretched her long, long neck all the way up to the highest branch. "Climb on, little one," she said gently.

Baby Monkey wrapped her arms around Gilda's neck. Slowly, carefully, Gilda lowered her down to the ground.

Milo hugged his sister. Then he hugged Gilda's legs. "Thank you, Gilda! Your long neck is amazing!"

Everyone cheered. From then on, Gilda was the official savanna lookout — and the champion at finding the juiciest leaves at the top of the trees.

"Being tall is pretty great," Gilda said with a smile.
