In the Kingdom of Glimmerpeak, every dragon could breathe fire. Big orange flames! Crackling red sparks!

Every dragon, that is, except Ember.

Whenever Ember tried to breathe fire, her nose tickled, and she went — "Ah... ah... ACHOO!" Out came a stream of shiny, rainbow bubbles.

The other young dragons laughed. "Bubble Dragon! Bubble Dragon!"

Ember hid in her cave and practiced every day. But every day — ACHOO! — bubbles, bubbles, bubbles.

One hot, dry summer, a spark from a campfire landed in the tall grass near the village. Suddenly, flames spread across the meadow!

The fire-breathing dragons flew over, but their flames only made the fire bigger. The villagers screamed, "Water! We need water!"

Ember flew as fast as she could. She took the deepest breath of her life and — "ACHOOOOO!" A giant wave of bubbles poured out. Pop! Pop! Pop! Each bubble burst with a splash of cool water.

Ember sneezed and sneezed until the very last flame fizzled out.

The villagers cheered. The young dragons stared. "Ember," said the biggest one quietly, "that was incredible."

The king gave Ember a golden medal: Official Firefighter of Glimmerpeak.

Nobody called her "Bubble Dragon" to tease her anymore. Now they said it with pride.
