Pablo loved making pizza. On Saturday, he made one big, round cheese pizza for his party.

Ding-dong! His friend Ana arrived. "Two of us," said Pablo. He cut the pizza right down the middle. "Now we each get one half!"

Ding-dong! Ben and Chloe arrived. "Now there are four of us," said Pablo. He cut each half in half again. "Four equal pieces. We each get one fourth β€” that's a quarter!"

Ding-dong! Four more friends arrived! "Eight of us?" Pablo gasped. He carefully cut each quarter in half. "Eight slices. Everyone gets one eighth."

"But the slices are getting smaller," said Ben.

"That's right," said Pablo. "The more people who share, the smaller each piece gets. But everyone still gets a fair share, because the pieces are equal."

Ding-dong! "More friends?!" Pablo laughed. This time it was his grandma with four more pizzas! "I can't stay, I'm just dropping these off," she said with a wink. By now, the first pizza was all gone.

"Now we have four new pizzas and eight of us," said Pablo. He did some quick thinking. "Four pizzas, cut in half, makes eight halves. Everyone gets half a pizza!"

"Pablo, you're a pizza genius!" cheered Ana.

Everybody munched their fair share. Nobody got left out, and there wasn't a single argument.

"Fractions," Pablo said with a cheesy grin, "are delicious."
